SAFE HARBOUR

Wow, its Wednesday!
Here is a layout I have just finished for a sketch challenge at My Creative Sketches.
For this one I used the colour of the sky for my background colour and chose pale pink just because I love pink!
So, first of all I cut 1 inch off my patterned paper (Prima) and adhered this to my background cardstock. Then I adhered the doily.  I matted my photo and lay that down. I added the layers with some more Prima papers. I added some die cut butterflies and lots of pale pink flowers and gems. I hand made the white lace flower and the pink lace centre and made some pink and white stick pins. I also inked up the edges as I went. I will put up a tutorial for my stick pins later. Why not give it a go. See sketch below.

CARD CHALLENGE

Happy Monday everyone. Here is a handmade card I have made for a card challenge over at the flying unicorn.
It had to be a card of any other shape other than square or rectangle. So, here is a beautiful boot. I hand made all the flowers and added pearls and a die cut phrase (sizzix).
I used lots of punches for the flowers and a large tattered florals die.  Just trace out a boot shape on a doubled over peice of cardstock and cut out.

The paper is from Prima called Melody Collection.

TAG

Good morning scrappers. I thought I would share my tag I have made for a challenge at the flying unicorn.
For this one, I hand cut the tag, covered it in some Prima paper then set about decorating. I used some dies for the hearts and for the bird and a stamp for the birdcage, I then inked all the edges and adhered to the tag. I added some ric rak and some pearls. I hand made a stick pin with glass pearls and added lots of flowers and a swirl.  Hope you like it.

ST PETER PORT

Good morning all, here is a layout Id like to share with you using a sketch from the Flying Unicorn.
For this one I used the green from the colour of the water, and the reddish colour from the flowers in the photo. The background paper is from Basic Grey, which I cut down slightly and distressed the edges and adhered to some green, then white Bazzill. I added my doilies, then cut two circles, one in each colour and cut them in half. I adhered these to the doilys and matted my photo onto the green cardstock. I gutted the centre of the green so as to not waste any and used this for the matt. I added another matt in white and distressed the edges of both these. I added a lace border, then die cut my butterflies. I glittered them with homemade stickles and added pearls. I added my flowers and pearls then die cut the title. I hand made some stick pins from pearls then added on either side. I will show you how I made them, it is sooo easy and fun to do. Im making them for a swap over at the Flying Unicorn. Give it a go. Thats all for now, have a great day. BFN

MANS BEST FRIEND

Good morning and Happy Monday everyone. Here is the other side to my double page layout using the same sketch as before.
So Ive basically done something similar but in the reverse. Ive used the same papers and added my hand made blooms with the pearl centres. I have used a Martha Stewart punch on both pages to create the shell like borders. And I have added some pink mesh netting on this one that came from a bouquet of flowers. I love finding items that I can use on a page that are a bargain and this was a freebie, even better. So here is one bargain page that didnt cost very much. The papers are from Making Memories.

BEACHED

Good morning scrappers and Thank Goodness its Friday.
Here is a layout Ive just finished using the Mojo Monday Sketch over at the Flying Unicorn for my inspiration.
For this one I chose pink and blue from the photo with a light background in Bazzill. I used some perfect blue and pink stripy paper and added my layers. I then added a doily and started to decorate with flowers, butterflies, die cut shells and die cut chipboard swirls and pine leaves, which I thought looked a bit like seaweed. I painted these green with acylic dabbers. I handmade the flowers with the pearls centres and added the title. Hope you like it. See sketch below.

MUDEFORD

Morning all scrappers, here is a layout I have just finished using a sketch from STUCK ON YOU SKETCHES for my inspiration.
I love pink and yellow together so thought this would be perfect for my photo. The backing paper is from Prima I think. So, first I chose my cardstock and colours and matted my photo and made a border from a scalloped edge ruler. I then matted my doilies in pink Bazzill and layered everything up as per the sketch, that I have turned on its side. I cut out some butterflies from the background cardstock, you can just make out three of them. (I used the middle of the cardstock from under the photo so I didnt have to cut into a fresh sheet). I then used my sewing machine to stitch around parts of the layout with white thread. Then it was time for the best bit, to decorate. I hand made the large yellow flower from a Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die, inked the edges, sprayed on some glimmer mist, added a hand made pearl centre and curled up the edges for a more realistic look. I will put a tutorial up soon. I added lots more pink and yellow flowers and die cut some small green fronds. I adhered some pearls and a die cut title. Hope you like it and give it a go. See sketch below.

Hi everyone hope you are having a great week end.
Here is my take on a sketch by My Creative Sketches.
For this one I chose blue and yellow from the photo and used a template for the yellow background shape. I then matted my photo and started to layer up with blues and yellows. Some are Glitz papers and some are My Minds Eye. I fussy cut the two blue roses and the date border and the LOVELY title. I added GIRL with my alphabet dies. I then added some Dusty Attic chicken wire and a mini doily, a handmade flower vine, and roses. Hope you like it.See sketch below.
I will put up a tutorial for the flower vine later.

THE FLOOD

Thank goodness its Friday eveyone. Here is a layout I have done for a challenge over at The Flying Unicorn. It s to do a layout using circles.
So here I used some paper from Bo Bunny called Gabrielle, and I used doilys and a tim Holtz weathered clock die. I used a plate to cut out the largest circle first. Then I added the doily and printed out my photo in A4 size so I could get a good size circle. I used another plate to cut around. I then printed out my other photos in 6x4 inches and cut them in various sizes of circles with a circle cutter. I then arranged them around the photo and inked all the edges. I added some flowers and butterflies and the title. If you like circles then give it a go. BFN

You will find the challenge here.

FLOWER CARD

Flower Card
Hi Here is the pearl flower layout tutorial as promised.

This is what you will need.
One glue gun, pearls of various sizes, circle punch, card for circle and I used a sharp needle - end tool or you could use tweezers to pick up the pearls.

First of all, punch out a small circle. Then add a drop of hot glue in the centre. Then add one large pearl.

Continue adding pearls one at a time.

It should look like this.

Until you have a centre that looks like this. It is best to use the same colour card as the flower.

CAPTAINS CLUB & DAD

Good morning scrappers.  Here is a layout using a sketch from SKETCHABILITIES No 70 for my inspiration.
And its pink, yay!! So first I matted and layered my photos and the backing cards. I used different script papers that picked out the grey in the photo. I adhered these onto pink cardstock and added two doilies with a pink circle in between. I made 3 borders, but you cant really see them. One is a large scalloped border, a small scalloped border and a large zig zag border. I then die cut some swirls and added them. I die cut a bunting banner and glued this onto some pink twine. I adhered these with pink brads. I then die cut the title and added the flowers. See sketch below.

MUM

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Bank Holiday. Today my layout was inspired by a sketch from ONCE UPON A SKETCH. For this one I used paper from Prima from the Sparkling Spring Collection for my background. I chose pink, white and brown for this layout. I matted my photo in pink Bazzil and started to layer up my papers by first ripping and tearing them. I chose some music paper and some script paper. I also used some paper that I made using a Prima brick mask and homemade Gesso. You can just see it. I stuck down my first layer of script paper  and then stitched around the edge in brown. I used a doily punch for the pink border. I then painted a chipboard clock frame by tim holtz and stuck this down. I added some Prima flowers to the clock and some die cut swirls. I added a pearl flourish and a Tim Holtz die cut heart with wings. I die cut the banner and added a pearl string for the bunting. I added some journaling entitled The Mothers Psalm and die cut the title. The sketch is below.

ONCE UPON A SKETCH May
http://www.onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/

the journaling reads:

THE MOTHERS PSALM
The Lord is my co-pilot, I shall not rush
He maketh me to hit all the green traffic lights.
He leadeth me through shopping hassles.
He restoreth my composure.
He giveth me strength to make ends meet for my familys sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of laundry, I will fear no evil,  for Thou art with me.
Thy perspective and sense of humor, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me with the assistance of takeout.
Surely clutter and confusion shall follow me most of the day' s of my life, but I shall dwell in a happy home forever. Amen

DADDYS LITTLE PEACH

Good morning all, today I have a layout using a sketch from CREATIVE SCRAPPERS No. 206.
I have also used lots of doilys for a challenge over at  the Flying Unicorn and  I have made some doily flowers for a challenge. I also made the flower centres. I will add a tutorial for these later.
So, for this page I chose some Prima paper from the Songbird Collection. I also did some fussy cutting of the branch and birds from one sheet. I ripped the edges and adhered this onto some peach cardstock. I then coloured some doilys using paints and glimmer mist. If you do this make sure you do not use too much water as the doilys will disintergrate. I added the matted photo, and lay some doilies cut in half in the back. I added the branch and a die cut tim holtz birdcage which I painted with some gold acrylic paint. I added a little chain. I die cut some butterflies and added pearls. Then I made my doily flowers and made the centres and added these. I added some hidden journaling an die cut the title.

PARTY ON

Good morning everyone. Here is my take on a sketch from STUCK ON YOU SKETCHES from 27 April.
I chose my papers first, going for the salmon colour Jessie is wearing plus brown and light aqua from the background.  Then I matted the photo and cut out all my layers. I hand cut the banners and matted them onto brown Bazill cardstock. I started layering up as per the sketch and took out my sewing machine to attach some of the peices. When everything was secure I made the doily lace trim from a regular 6" doily and tucked that underneath the border which I stuck down with foam pads to even out the lift. I die cut some hearts and inked the edges. Then I started to decorate with Prima flowers and butterflies. I die cut some small pine branches (punch bunch) and added the title and the journaling block. Hope you like it and give it a go.
