THE BEST DAY EVER

Morning all lovely scrappers. For todays layout I have used a challenge at Flying Unicorn for my inspiration. The challenge was to use tissue paper. Here I have made all the pink tissue flowers. HERE IS HOW.

I took a tim holtz tattered florals die and some pink tissue and cut through lots of layers at once. I scrunched them up in different sizes, added some hot glue to the centres and just squished together. Easy peasy and I think they look quite pretty.

I then added some textured paste to give a snowy effect. It was snowing a blizzard at the time! I used the texture paste to make the brick wall by stippling through a stencil. I used the tim holtz clock die and textured that and inked the edges. I also used a tim holtz die for the little robin. I used inks to colour him in.

I added all sorts of little bits and peices, more flowers and some branches. Hope you like it. You can find the Flying Unicorn here.  http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum.html

Hi lovely scrappers. Today I have done another BUILD A PAGE for you in  - 10 easy to follow steps.
So, here is how to achieve my PARTY layout.

Step 3 - Cut a peice of matching cardstock 8 x 8 inches and ink the edges, I used black ink.
Step 4 - Cut a peice of pretty paper slightly smaller than 8x8, ink the edges and adhere.
Step 5 - Attach slightly to one side,  your double matted photo. I used white and black cardstock.
Step 6 - Make another small matt using pretty paper. I used music paper. Ink the edges and matt. Attach in the bottom left corner.  Add a strip of co-ordinating ribbon, I used black grosgrain with white stitching.

Brrr - Snow - Always an unexpected pleasure

Good morning scrappers - hope its not too snowy and cold where you are.
These are the pictures of us in the snow last week.
For this layout I have used a sketch from Sketchabilities for my inspiration.

I found some brilliant snowy background paper that really showed what kind of day it was.
I then chose my background colours, which I kept quite monochromatic and went from there.
Here is what I did.
First I adhered my photos onto some white cardstock and drew a line around them  using a ruler.
I cut this out and adhered to some dark green cardstock and did the same.
I then drew around a template and cut out the bracket style border. I  matted  this onto dark green card.
I glued this down and attached my photos.
I  added a one inch strip of cardstock on either side and added two  peices of bunting to which I added some pearls.
I added some more bunting in green and white.
I took some texture/ modelling paste, and added  snowy white edges with a paint brush.
I added my flowers and title and two small doillies.
I then finished off with the journalling banner at the bottom, the date and three small rose buds.
I added some texture paste to the flowers and leaves as well. I hope you like it, see sketch below.

SOUS FRIDAY SKETCH REVEAL - SNOW BUNNY

Happy Friday everyone. And can you believe it - its snowing here! How appropriate for this photo!
This is a picture of Jessie when she was about 3-4. She is now 16yrs old.

For this sketch I decided to go with the dotty background as per the sketch, and use pink, brown and white.
So this is how I did it.
I double matted my photo in pink, then brown cardstock.
I  cut a doily lace background from white cardstock using a border punch.
I adhered this to my polka dot paper then added a pink peice of plain cardstock.
I attached my matted photo and cut another lace peice of white cardstock and glued this behind the photo.
I then added a pink die-cut scalloped border behind the photo to put my journalling on.
I  added my wooden snowflakes with the extra photos on. I painted these white and inked the edges.
I die- cut the picket fence in brown and added this.
Next I  die-cut the banner in pink and brown, attached this with pink brads and added the die cut title.
Then it  was time to embellish. I added lots of flowers, a small stick pin and a pink bow.
I hope you like it and give it a go.
Thats all for now. Enjoy the snow.

SANTAS GROTTO

Happy Monday ladies. Today I thought I would show you how I put a page together from start to finish.
This is my first BUILD A PAGE.
In 12 easy steps. See below.
My many layers Layout
Step 1 - Choose background card and one sheet of pretty paper. Cut round a template to achieve a scallop and ink the edges.

Step 2 - Matt your photo onto a peice of co-ordinating cardstock and ink the edges and distress.

Step 3 - Cut out another matt just a little larger than the last one, distress the edges then ink the edges and place underneath the first matt.
Step 4 - Cut out another matt, slightly larger again and place underneath.
I used a peice of corrugated card and painted with some Modeling paste and inked the edges.

Step 5 - I added another layer, this time using some co-ordinating hessian fabric.

Step 6 - I added a white doilly.

Step 7 - I used a scalloped ruler and cut out the blue border.

Step 8 - I added a darker blue border strip aprox 2 inches wide.

Step 9 - Add another narrower border strip in a co-ordinating colour ( I used the burgundy).

Step 10 - I added another layer, this time using a picket fence die.

Step 11 - I glued everything down at this stage, but you can glue as you go.
I used a heat gun for the hessian and the cardboard  and some photo tape for the rest.

Step 12 - Gather together all your embellishments that you think will match.
Or you can do this at the start.

And now for the fun bit. Glue all your embellishments in place and add the title.
Now its time for the journalling. I have put a journalling box underneath the layers.
And there you have it - a layered up layout with flowery embellishments.
I hope you give it a go.

GROOVY

Hi lovely scrappers. Here is a layout I have done using a sketch from Flying Unicorn for my inspiration.
I used some pretty background paper from Graphic 45 - A ladies diary collection - Moment in time.
I cut this down to 11.5 inches and matted it onto some plain black cardstock.
I then matted my photo in peach then black, and made another matt using peach, cream and black.
I adhered both these down then started to embellish.
I started with the largest flower first, then added smaller flowers to the sides.
I then added two of my handmade vines and glued all this down with a heat gun.
I added two labels for my journalling, which I cut out using a Tim Holtz die.
I  typed up the title, matted it and glued this down.
I loved this sketch as it is quite simple and easy to do. I hope you give it a go. See link below.

FOCUS

Hi everyone. Here is my latest layout using a sketch from C'est Magnifique Kit Club.

If you would like to give it a go this is how I did it.
So, first of all choose your papers. I chose a pretty paper from a Prima Collection called Natures Garden for my background . I  also chose some pretty purple cardstock that matched the photo.
Then I matted my photo in three different purples and distressed the edges. I used a Prima distressing tool, but the edge of your scissors would do the job.
I then double matted a white doily, using my wiggly scissors to cut out the circles.
I made a ruffle border by using another Prima paper from the same collection. I sprayed this with water first to make it more pliable. Then I glued it down.
I then took some soft white fabric and glued this underneath the ruffle.
I  added a small lace border and a purple border to either side of the ruffle. (Can just be seen).
I made half a concertina flower for one side, and added some flowers.
I die cut a bird and birdcage and painted the bird with some dabbers.
I added more flowers and pearls and a die cut branch frond to either side.
I made a small bird with some clay.
I finished the page off with some lace in the top corner and added some flowers and pearls.
I made two beaded dragonflies, stickled the wings and glued these down with hot glue.
I added a Prima journalling box, just peeping out from under the photo.
Then I added the title. Hope you like it. Click on the link below to take you to the sketch.

FROSTY

DESIGN TEAM WORK FOR STUCK ON YOU SKETCHES

Happy Friday everyone, and a Happy New Year.
Here is my first layout this year for SOUS design team.
And this is how I did it.
First of all I chose the colours from the photo. I love purple and green together and I added some white.
First of all I matted my photo in purple cardstock, inked the edges and rounded the corners.
I took a 12x12  peice of scalloped cardstock in purple which I lay on top of a sheet of  12x12 green bazzill card.
Then I found a paper in a patterned green and purple and using my scalloped ruler I made a scalloped square.
I inked the edges and matted this onto a peice of green card that I scalloped and inked the edges.
I found a white doily and glued this down. Then added a green circle, which I cut using some wiggly scissors, then I inked the edges.
I glued my matted photo to all these layers.
I used a tree sticker from an old sheet of Christmas stickers I had and added some small flower buds.
I added a few handmade vines to the base of the tree and some purple and white flowers.
I then die cut 3 snowflakes and added gems.
I added a few more flowers  and a journaling box.
And to finish I die cut the title.
I hope you like it and give it a go. See sketch below.
