An EASY life

Happy Friday everyone, even if it is pouring with rain a the moment, just means great scrapping time!
Here is a layout I have just finished using ONCE UPON A SKETCH and C.S.I for my inspiration. (See below).
For this one I used the sketch and all the colours from the scheme.
I used branches, birds, flowers, and newsprint from the evidence elements.
I did my journalling about how we would love to be on holiday every day, and the title Easy is from the Lionel Richie song of that name.
So -  first of all I gathered up all my papers that fit the colour description and matted my photo.
I loved these colours as they really picked out the colours in the photo.
I then matted my newspaper print paper (freebie from C.S.I) and inked the edges.
I adhered this to my background paper, (My Minds Eye I think), and adhered my matted photo on top.
Then I used some card-stock using scalloped scissors for the backdrop.
I then started to add my flowers and other embellishments  and used some journaling boxes from the freebies.
I added some journalling and some secret journalling on the side and hidden underneath.
I added some muslin and a gorjuss dewdrop bead (from the Scrap That kit for August), and added my title using some alphabet stickers.

JUST A DREAM AWAY

Hi lovely scrappers, its that Friday feeling.
Here is a layout using the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch - and Colour Stories Inspiration, for the colours.
I used a brick template from Prima and some white acrylic paint for the blue background.
I matted this onto the wine background cardstock.
I double matted the photo in blue and white.
I added two border peices one in white and one in the blue circles from the C.S.I freebie page.
I added the doily and some printed paper from the freebies.
I then used a little picket fence I picked up somewhere, not sure where, and painted it white.
I added flowers and little branches, pearls and a butterfly, and one of my stick pins in blue.
I added the title using another of the freebies and  a couple of freebie tags.
Hope you like it and give it a go.

BREEZY

Good morning scrappers. Here is a  layout i have just finished, I have used a sketch from SKETCHABILITIES for my inspiration.
For this one, I wanted to use the colours from Jessies top and jacket.
I matted the photo is some Bazzill cardstock and then gathered together all my papers of similar colours.
I used a Prima background paper and some book paper, music paper and plain cardstock in off- white.
I cut the centre panel in apricot cardstock to 9x11.5 inches and adhered this to the background paper.
I used a martha stewart punch for the 2 doily borders in white cardstock and added these.
I then cut the music paper to 11 x8 inches and added this on top.
I carried on cutting down the papers by a small amount, inked all the edges and glued them down.
I added my matted photo and a doily.
I hand-cut four squares for my journaling, matted them and glued them down. (Using scalloped scissors).
I then made two double matted banners for the corners.
I used a sizzix die to cut out the hearts and matted them onto white cardstock and stuck these down.
I punched out some large leaves and some small branches and glued these down.
I hand punched a flower, inked the edges and added a pearl centre.
I added more flowers and mini roses and mini rosebuds.
I die cut three double layered buterflies and added pearls for the bodies.
I added one of my small  hand made stick pins and the title.
I hope you like it and give it a go. See sketch below.

AHOY

Morning all, here is a layout I have just finished using a sketch from STUCK ON YOU SKETCHES
as my inspiration.
I have used colours from the photo and lots of circles for this one.
Here is how I did it.
I used a circle cutter to crop my photo, then I cut out lots of random circles in various blues and tan.
I matted my photo and started to layer up all my circles onto the dotty brown background card- stock.
When I was happy with the layers I inked up all the edges and  glued everything down.
I then made a double  mat in ovals for my Fairy Belle journaling box and glued this in place.
I then found some string to continue the boat rope onto the page and glued it down.
I found some cheesecloth peices to add some texture and stuck them down with some gesso that I had made. I also painted some of this randomly on the page.
I started to decorate with flowers and gems and made some butterflies with glass beaded bodies.
I found a button and twine in the lovely tan colour and added this to the page and a few other embellishments including a wooden banner, a brown leaf, two mini bird stickers, a compass, two hand made stick pins, a small metal shell and a string bow  to finish off. I used stickers for my title. I just need to add some journaling in the box and thats done. See sketch below.

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

Its Friday yay, and the last day to get my Scrap That Sketch Challenge in.

ANALOGOUS COLOURS FROM YOUR COLOUR WHEEL
These are 2 - 4 colours that sit next to each other and therefore blend really easily together, I hope you like the scheme.
For this layout I chose red-orange, orange and yellow- orange from the photo.
So,  I chose my papers and matted my photo.
I used some Basic Grey yellow-orange pretty paper and cut that down to 9 x 10 inches and matted it onto the background cardstock.
I then cut down a red-orange peice of cardstock to 7x8inches and adhered this down.
I added my matted photo.
I then added a small doily and a small dotty circle on top in the red- orange colour.
I added three border peices of cardstock in the various colours.
I inked the edges.
I then decorated with flowers, pearls and a gem brad.
I added some swirly flourishes cut from a die.
I added 2 hand made butterflies with hand beaded bodies.
I added a small sunshine face.
I used alphabet stickers for my title.
I added a hand made stick pin.
And added the date.
A lovely sketch to work from, hope you give it a go. BFN

DEVON

Morning all in happy scrappy land
Here is my layout using a sketch and colour scheme from Once Upon A Sketch and C.S.I.
This was a great challenge and really fun to do. Heres how I did it-
First I chose the cardstock from the colour story. Then I matted my photo and inked the edges.
I then tore up 4 layers of pretty papers in the colour scheme, (one was a freebie from C.S.I) to use under the photo.
I cut out a circle of bazzill cardstock in one of the colours and added a smaller circle on top using some pale honeycomb paper I have had forever. I inked the edges.
I adhered these to some pretty background cardstock from Kaisercraft.
I adhered all the layers and then matted my photo onto some cardboard to raise it off the page.
I made a cardboard border and inked it up.
I made another border from cardstock and added net on top and added this with matching brads.
I stuck these down and then die cut my banner using a sizzix die, when I then joined together with the brads.
I painted some honeycomb chipboard, in white (from dusty attic), and glued these down with glossy accents.
I then made some concertina flowers using a sizzix die and added large brads to the centres.
I chose some matching flowers, mostly Prima. I also added some net.
I punched and cut out some leaves. (Some from C.S.I. printouts).
I added a couple of tags from C.S.I printouts and used one of their journaling blocks for some hidden journaling.
Hidden journaling reads -
Be kinD, tenderhEarted, forgiVing each other as GOd also iN christ, forgives you. Using an acrostic of Devon. That should cover the colour scheme, the evidence and the testimony.
Hope you like it and give it a go. See links below.

ALL THE WORLD IS A STAGE

Morning all. Here is another layout using complimentary colours red and green.
For this one I used some pretty websters paper and some brown and green bazzill cardstock.
Very easy. First matt your photo in the green then again in the brown.
Cut out an 8x8 peice of pretty paper and matt that onto the brown cardstock.
Mount your matted photo onto the 8x8 card and matt all that onto your backing cardstock.
Then make a small journalling box for the title.
Add some pretty flowers and leaves, pearls and butterflies. Add a stick pin and a bow. Add a small journalling box for the details and that is it. I hand made the stick pin and the butterflies beaded bodies.
I hand made the large white flower using doily cotton lace. Why not give it a go.

GOTTA DANCE

USING COMPLIMENTARY COLOURS

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great summer. Schools back  for most of us, so lots of scrappy time coming up.
My computor has been up the creek so I havnt posted for a while, but here is my latest page.

For those of you who dont know where to start with colours I thought I'd get out my colour wheel and give a few tips. For this layout I have used green and red from the photo, which are opposite each other on the colour wheel - complimentary colours.

No sketch for this one. So here is what I did.

Step 1 -  I double matted the photo in some plain and some pretty paper and inked the edges.
I then then matted the green background cardstock with the red scalloped card.
I cut an 8x8 square in pretty paper (websters I think) and inked the edges.
I added some brown scalloped card underneath.
I added a red circle on top of this, then a doily.
I added another circle of pretty paper and inked the edges.
I added my matted photo.
I added another smaller doily in the bottom right hand corner and added some paper with holes in in the top right hand corner and tucked in a few more brown scallops.
I used some red and white flowers and hand- made three butterflies and hand- beaded the bodies.
Hope you like it and give green and red a go. BFN
