SKETCHABILITIES DESIGN TEAM REVEAL - SKETCH #88

http://sketchabilities.blogspot.co.uk/
HAPPY EASTER everyone and welcome to SKETCHABILITIES design team reveal sketch # 88.

I hope you visit all the designers blogs for lots of inspiration.

These photos are from our day out Prom Dress shopping.

This is how I made my layout.
I matted my photos in pink and distressed the edges.
I cut a circle from cardboard and painted it with pink and gold acrylic paint.
I then cut down some pretty brown paper to 11x11 inches and distressed the edges.
I cut down a pretty pink paper to 10.5 x 10.5 inches and distressed the edges.
I adhered these two layers onto my background cardstock.
I added my cardboard circle.
I then used some hot glue to attach my tulle ruffle and pearl strip all around the edge of the circle.
I attached my matted photos.
I made lots of pink flowers from mulberry paper.
See tutorial http://theprettypaperpatisserie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/hand-made-flowers-tutorial.html .
Then I made a concertina pink flower.
I made a small pink stick/hat pin from glass beads.
I added some lace and glued some flat back pearls across the centre.
I added my flowers, leaves and some cream funky fibres.
I added some mini roses and the beaded pin.
I then found a little journaling box that I folded in half to put some journaling inside.
I painted some texture paste onto my flowers to soften them a little and stamped the two opposite corners and added some more mini roses.
Last but not least I added my title.
I hope you like it and give it a go.
Happy scrapping everyone and enjoy the reveal.

Happy Easter everyone.
This is the last day of the challenges over at the Flying Unicorn so I wanted to get this up today.
Its for the gender bender challenge - if you usually do pink for a girl then do blue and vice versa!!
I find not doing pink a bit of a challenge anyway, so definitely had to give this one a go.
Hope you like it and pop over the the Flying Unicorn as they have lots of inspiration there.

I didnt use a sketch for this one, just went free style! Hope you like it. Bye For Now. Have a great week end. x

MEMORY - FROZEN IN TIME

Hi everyone, I have been playing about with my blog, sorry it keeps changing! Its because I don't really know what Im doing and am trying it all out by trial and error! It was looking a bit messy so I hope I have simplified it once and for all.

Anyway,  here is my latest layout.
I used a sketch from My Creative Scrapbook for my inspiration. See sketch below.

So, for this layout I chose the colours from the photo and I matted my photo in brown then blue, then brown.
I turned the base layer into a doily effect by using a Martha Stewart doily punch, which I then adhered to white cardstock.
I then used a honeycomb stamp and texture paste and stamped onto the background. I also did some stamping with brown ink.
When this had dried I added my layers as per the sketch.
I then added a matted journaling box to the side.
This done I started to decorate.
I made the banners first then I added my stickers and flowers( some of which I made) and pearls.
I used mainly white and aqua but I wanted to pick out the pink dummy and green jellies.
Last but not least I added the title.
I hope you like it.

PUPPY

Morning all, here is my latest layout. For this one I used  a sketch from C'est Manifique Kit Club for my inspiration.
See sketch and link below.
I matted and layered my photo with four layers and distressed each layer.
I attached this to my pretty paper and then die cut my birdcage, hanging piece and swirl in chipboard.
I inked all three and added some ranger crackle glaze to them.
I attached these to a chipboard post that I also inked and glazed (you can just see it).
I added these to the page, and started to decorate with flowers, (some I made), leaves, fibres, pearls and butterflies.
I then die cut a chipboard tag for my journaling and added the title.
Hope you like it.

HAND MADE FLOWERS TUTORIAL

HI everyone, hope you had a great week end. As you can see, I have been making flowers and kind of got addicted and couldn't stop!
But if you know my layouts you will know that I cannot scrap without them, the more the merrier.
So here is how I made these pretty little spiral flowers.

This is what you will need, plus a quilling tool or tooth pick, I forgot to put mine in the photo.

 Step 1
Using scalloped scissors cut out as many circles as you would like flowers, in varying sizes.
I used Mulberry paper to make mine.

 Step 2
Cut out a spiral from the circle.

Step3
Use your quilling tool or tooth pick and start at the end and start twirling.

Your flower should look like this.

Step 4
Take your hot glue gun and add glue to the base of your flower and stick down.

Your flower should look like this.

Hope you enjoy making these little lovelies. That's all for today, Bye For Now.

SKETCHABILITIES DESIGN TEAM REVEAL SKETCH # 87

MORNING ALL AND WELCOME TO SKETCHABILITIES DESIGN TEAM REVEAL
SKETCH #87

http://sketchabilities.blogspot.co.uk/

Here is my first layout for the SKETCHABILITIES DESIGN TEAM.

For this layout I first chose all my papers to co-ordinate with my photo.
Then I cut each paper down in half inch increments.
I glued them all down then stitched everything down with a zig- zag stitch on my sewing machine.
I also stitched down three border strips in white.
Then I glued my photo down and added some blue hessian/burlap behind the photo. I also added some brown cardboard and blue cardstock behind the photo.
I started to decorate with assorted flowers, leaves and shells.
I added my flowers first, then pearls, then driftwood, then the starfish sticker and the tag.
I added the pearl string and the beaded dragonfly.
Last of all I die cut the title.
I hope you like it and give it a go.

If you would like to be in with a chance to win my happy mail just become a follower and leave me a comment to say so.

SOUS DESIGN TEAM REVEAL - March 15th

Morning all lovely scrappers and welcome to the
STUCK ON U SKETCHES DESIGN TEAM REVEAL
http://stuckonusketches.blogspot.co.uk/

I just loved this sketch by Sandi, definitely one of my favourites.
For this layout I used three different pretty papers and two colours of cardstock.
I cut out my papers as per the sketch, inked the edges and added cardstock trim.
I then cut out my photo into a heart shape.
I triple mounted this, then added some gathered tulle in cream.
I mounted this again onto the beige background card.
I chose lots of co-ordinating flowers and glued these down using hot glue.
I added a small stick/hat pin, leaves and swirly twine.
I then added the title by cutting out some hearts and alphabets and adding some mini roses and a twine bow.
Hope you like it and give it a go.

PROM DRESS SHOPPING

Hi scrappy friends, here is a layout I have just finished. I used  a T.C.R #145 colour scheme for my inspiration and am entering this into a challenge over at Scrap For Help. See links below.

For this one I used some pretty papers from Kaisercraft called the Duchess Collection which I have had in my stash for ages.
The colours were perfect for this page.

So this is how I did it.
I chose all my papers and made lots of flowers in turquoise, pink and yellow.
I cut down a pretty paper to 10x10 inches and matted it onto a piece of cream cardstock cut down to 10.5 x 10.5 inches, which I matted onto my 12x12 pretty paper. I inked all the edges.
I adhered my doily then my two matted photos.
I then used some cardboard that I painted with some white paint and two other pieces of co-ordinating cardstock and glued these in layers in the back of my photos.
I then attached my silver hessian/burlap in the back using a heat gun. I thought silver would go with the sparkles on the dress.
This done I started decorating with flowers and leaves, butterflies and fibres. The green leaves and flowers I decorated with silver glitter glue.
I used more of the silver burlap/hessian in between the flowers.
I added the title and there you have it a pretty layout incorporating pink, turquoise, a little green and a little yellow. Hope you like it.

baby DOLL

Happy Friday everyone. I have just found this photo of Jess which must have been taken about 12 years ago! Thought it would be a fun one to scrap.
For my inspiration I chose last weeks Flying Unicorn sketch for my inspiration. I also entered this into the embellish it challenge over there.
I made most of the flowers on here with my two new scrappy items, Bitty Blossoms Die and Rose Creations Die by Spellbinders. They are addictive to make, I couldn't stop!!!
Anyway here is how I did this layout.

I found this great polka dot paper to tie in with Jessies rosy cheeks and matched it up with some Kaisercraft pretty paper, some pink and white cardstock, and some tiny dotty paper.
I matted my photo then chose some cardboard that I painted to layer up with the dotty paper and pink paper.
I then cut out my circles which I matted onto my background paper.
I added the layers and the photo.
Then I sorted out my embellies.
I hand made most all the flowers with my two new dies, and added a lace doily and lace border.
I added the flowers, leaves and branches and one of my hand made stick/hat pins.
I stippled everything with some white gesso.
I added pearls and fibres, butterflies and a mini tag.
Think that pretty much covers the challenge.
All that I needed then was the title.

GROW

Hi lovely scrappers and welcome to my blog.
Here is a layout I have just finished for a sketch challenge over at Scrap That.
See sketch and link below.

This is how I put the page together.
I kept to the colours in the photo so chose pale green, lemon and blue.
I double matted my photo and distressed the edges.
I cut out the half scalloped border using a cardstock template and inked the edges.
I then double matted my pretty background paper with  green and lemon and distressed the edges.
I added the scallop border.
I then added some other border strips underneath the photo.(Just seen). I used some cardboard that I inked.
I added the doily. (I just love doilies)!
I then used the same pretty paper, reverse side, to add the torn piece in the top right corner and inked the edges.
I cut out the birdcage from the same paper and stamped a little bird inside.
I added some rose buds, punched flowers and punched branches to the birdcage.
I then decorated with an assortment of flowers and leaves and added two die cut dragonflies with my hand made beaded pins as bodies.
I added brooch cut from the same paper and a few pearls.
And there you have it, a lovely memory in about 12 easy steps.
