HOW TO MAKE FLAP BOX No 1
I hope you follow along on how to make a box. It took me ages to figure out with quite a few rejects! I am pleased with the finished box and hope you are too.
YOU WILL NEED
Two sheets of A4 card,
Heartfelt Creations Climbing Clematis Collection papers, one flower, two leaves and two little birds, ink to ink the edges, wet glue, clips or pegs, hot glue, score board, paper trimmer, edge dies.
HERES HOW - Amended
For the base - cut card to 8 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches
Score at 1 inch on three sides, Do not score on the 8 1/4 inch top edge
Die cut the top, using the edge die on the 8 1/4 inch, unscored side of the box
Cut slits in the bottom for the tabs, one on either side, cut out small wedge pieces from the tabs so they glue together well
Apply glue to the top of the two tabs, bring the bottom layer up and glue together, hold in place with pegs or bull dog clips until dry.
For the Flap Front
Cut card stock to 8 1/4 x 11 3/4
(or the length of an 4 sheet of card)
Score at 1 inch on three sides
Score at 7 1/4 and 8 1/4 for the top flap edge (the longest side)
To die cut the shaped flap; See photo 1
Tape the shaped edge die to the top of the flap edge, the unscored edge, fold the sides in and run through a die cutting machine, if you have a large die cutting machine you wont need to fold in the sides
Cut off any excess
Cut slits in the top and bottom to make tabs, cut out a small wedge piece from the tabs so that they glue together well, add wet glue to the top of the base tabs, bring the base and tabs together, add pegs or clips until the glue dries
Fold the two top tabs in and glue down
Slot the two parts together, one inside the other, adhere with wet glue
When dry, decorate with papers from the paper pad, ink the edges, add a flower, leaves and little birds to the flap. All done.
