LETS PLAY

Happy Friday everyone. Here is a layout  I have just finished with Jessie when she was little.
For this one I used the colours from the photo, aqua and brown, with a little silver, plus I wanted to pick out a little of the green jelly shoes and pink dummy! I made the little pink flowers using a quilling tool.
So this is how I did it.
I used a sketch from SCRAPPING EVERYDAY MIRACLES for my inspiration. See link below.
I chose my papers and embellies.
I matted my photo first in brown then aqua and white papers and distressed all the edges.
I cut down the other three papers and distressed them as well.
I glued them down then added a doilly.
I added my matted photo.
I diecut  a birdcage and bird, then painted them.
I started to embellish with all my flowers and leaves and butterfly vine.
I added some doilly lace down the sides and some silver ribbon.
I added a couple of journal stickers.
I then added the title and a stick/hat pin.
I hope you like it and give it a go.

BUILD A PAGE - New Years Eve

Morning lovely scrappers. For those of you who are beginners I have put together a page from scratch for you. In ten easy steps.
So first of all, choose your photo, your cardstock and pretty papers.
Then choose your embellishments.
Now lets start with your background paper. This one is from Prima.

Take a co-ordinating paper, cut it down to 9.5 x 9.5 inches and distress the edges with a distressing tool or a pair of scissors. Ink the edges.

Take another pretty paper, cut down to 9x9inches and distress and ink the edges.

Now add a doilly, you can ink the edges, but I think I forgot on this one!

Take another peice of card 8x8inches and distress and ink the edges.

Add another peice of card 7.5x7.5inches, distress and ink the edges.

Add another doilly.

Add your matted photo. Distress and ink the edges.

Add some flowers to one corner. I made these using a punch and a die.

Add a  small border.

Now start to embellish. I added lots of assorted flowers, some butterflies with beaded bodies, a title tag and a few bits and peices. Hope you had fun and gave it a go.

SOUS FRIDAY DESIGN TEAM SKETCH REVEAL - WILD THING

http://stuckonusketches.blogspot.co.uk/

Morning everyone, today is Sketch Reveal Friday for STUCK ON U SKETCHES.
And here is my layout using the above sketch. I struggled a little with this one, so if it helps, keep it very simple. Also you could flip the sketch.
For this one I chose the colour scheme around Jessies dress and kept it all quite simple.
I like to follow sketches pretty closely and think Ive done that.
I chose various tones of orange, black and white.
I chose all my cardstock first and then matted my photo.
Next I layered up the background as per the sketch and adhered my photo onto some music paper and the scalloped black card.
I then used some texture paste and a mask and made the brick wall to run alongside the wall in the photo.
I die cut my hearts, added some pearls and started decorating with my flowers.
Last but not least, I printed out my title - lyrics from a Trogs song.
A simple, quick and easy page, why not give it a try?

A FIRST CLASS MURDER MYSTERY

Hi everyone, here is another layout I have just done, using a sketch from Sketchabilites No 84 for my inspiration. If you didnt know - I love sketches and challenges. If you want to give it a go just click on the link below.
So, for this one I chose to change some of my photos into sepia as this party was placed in the 1920s.
As it was our party I  decided to keep our picture in colour!!
Anyway, I then chose my papers and cardstock and double matted my photos.
I made a huge tag as per the sketch, using some Prima packaging and black cardstock.
I then matted my sepia colour cardstock ( I distressed the edges on this) onto black cardstock and glued this down.
I attached the large tag then added my matted photos.
Next I made the smaller tags using some Prima paper and black cardstock.
I then started to decorate.
I chose assorted flowers in neutral colours, I punched out some small branches, I made two large butterflies and added beaded bodies, I added some small pearl heart shaped buttons and a small wooden tag.
The journaling tag describes the characters and who dunnit!
Hope you like it and give it a go, the sketch or the party!! It was great fun by the way!

A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT

Hurrah its the weekend!  Lots of happy scrappy time!
Here is my latest layout I have done, using a sketch from SKISSEDILLA.
For this one-  I first chose all my papers ( Prima Natures Garden) and cardstock first, then gathered all my co-ordinating embellishments and decided to make some matching flowers.
I made the three cream ones in some mulberry paper, using a Donna Sallazer flower die.
Then I made the tree by using a mask and some texture paste and masked straight onto the paper. I then made another tree by masking onto some plain cardstock and when dry I cut it out and placed it on top of the other one for some dimension. I then added some gold paint to accent it.
I matted my photos in colored cardstock and inked the edges and glued all this down.I then ripped my edges to about a 10x10 inch background. I adhered this onto the plain background card.
I then added lace, netting and a doily around the edges.
Next I turned down the top right hand corner and decorated with flowers.
I cut out three small birds from the Prima paper (can you spot them all?) and inked them and attached to my page.
I added my hand made flowers and assorted roses, leaves etc.
I decorated my textured paste tree with mini rose buds.
I die cut three small butterflies and added pearls to their bodies.
I added a pearly swirl (Prima) and other bits and peices.
The twig I picked up off the beach!
Last but not least I added the title.
And I think thats about it! (See sketch below). I hope you like it and give the sketch a go.

TIPS ON HOW TO PUT A LAYOUT OR CARD TOGETHER

If you are a beginner and would like to know a sure-fire way to put a layout or a card together,
just follow my five easy fail-safe steps below.

1. Choose your focal point i.e. photo for your layout or your main theme for your card
(For my card above my main theme was the envelope)

2. Choose your background cardstock/paper and pretty papers
( I usually tie in my colours with my photo or theme)

3. Put together a border (brings the page together)

4.  Add your embellishments (try to colour co-ordinate them)

5. Add a title/greeting (in this case HUGS)
(Keep your colours down to three or four, too many will clutter your page)

And there you have it.
Hope this helps, have fun and happy scrapping  - Bye For Now and many thanks for stopping by.
