THE ROCKS

Hi everyone, here is my layout using the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch. For this one, I chose blue cardstock for the background and oranges for the layers which I picked out from the actual rocks. I matted the photo onto brown cardstock and distressed the edges. I matted it again and distressed again. I then scallop cut half a circle using a template and scallop cut a border using a scallop ruler. I then cut out another border from some Basic Grey cardstock and layered up. The flowers are from Prima, the butterflies I made from Prima flowers and I hand made the pearly swirls. To do this I copied a swirl onto computor paper, then lay some acetate on top of your swirl then using perfect pearls just make little pearly dots along the lines. Leave to dry. See sketch below. Bye For Now. Carole

TEA TIME

Hi everyone, here is my take on the SCRAP365 magazine Sketch Challenge. Hope you like it. For this one its back to the pink and doilys for me! I loved this sketch and found it really easy. First I chose the colours to go with the picture, then I matted the photo and distressed the edges. I then layered up and distressed as I went, in accordance with the sketch. I die cut the hanging bar (Tim Holtz die) and painted it with paint dabbers and attached with brads. I hand made the butterflies by using flowers and turning down one petal and attaching some wire and some pearls. Then I added glitter. I thought they worked out to be quite pretty. The larger butterfly is from Prima. I added the flowers and pearls and the sticker title.Thats all from me for now, have a great week end.

GUERNSEY

Good morning, I cant believe its Friday again! So, here is a layout ive done using the creative scrappers sketch no. 198 - see below.
I took the colours from the sea in the photo and the brick wall behind us. I think it works quite well. This layout was really easy to use. First of all I chose all my papers, then matted the photo in the brown cardstock as that looked the best. Then I just layered up by following the sketch. I decorated my page by adding lots of flowers, a couple of butterflies (Prima)  some pearls and some handmade pearly swirls. I used perfect pearls for this. I added the frame with the title on it using a Tim Holtz die, and the netting is saved from a packet of mini cheeses!!! You look at everything in a different light when you are a scrapper! Have fun with this one.

HOLIDAYS

Hi guys, here is the other layout using the same sketch. I picked out the papers to match the colours in the photos, and chose this pretty Prima paper from Annalee collection.  I matted all the photos first, then started adding the layers that make up the page, first with the aqua then some more prima paper and some doilies. I then added the photos and decorated. I added the flowers, a diecut birdcage that I painted with a pink dabber undercoat then with gold acrylic paint. The diecut bird I painted with pink and brown dabbers and added some pink stickles. I diecut the dragonflies and added pearls, I added a prima pearl swirl and added a prima journaling box. I also added some gauze fabric to the top corner . Then I die cut the title. Hope you like it.

HAPPY DAYS

Here is a layout using the SKETCHABILITIES SKETCH no. 66. I loved this sketch as I really like to get  more than one photo onto a page, otherwise all my albums are too huge and too heavy to pick up! Ive used peach and aqua here which Ive taken from the main photo. I matted the photos in aqua card and chose a pretty peach background card. I then found a matching peachy paper from Prima and a soft aqua one with stripes, cant remember where that is from. I distressed the stripy aqua around the edges and matted it onto the peach card. I added a large doily, (of course), just love those doilys, and cut a circle from some white  Prima cardstock that had some soft background writing on it. I inked the edges and stuck these down. I hand cut a scalloped border  using a scallop ruler in thepeachy paper and inked the edges. I hand cut a retro heart and inked the edges and placed just behind the birdcage. I also hand cut a half circle in the peachy paper to go behind the doily in the right hand corner.  Then I added the photos. Then the best bit, the decorating. I added a dusty attic chippie (the birdcage) after painting it and adding Glossy Accents glaze. Then I added a Tim Holtz bird diecut that I painted and glazed. I stamped and cut out a little Prima birdcage, die cut some  dragonflies then I added aqua pearls onto their bodies. I  added the Prima flowers and pearls. For the title I used a chippy for the word HAPPY that I crackled with Tim Holtz picket fence crackle paint and then glazed. I die cut the word DAYS and inked and glazed it. I added some fabric gauze  in the top left corner to soften , and then added my secret journaling box. It didnt take as long as it sounds! Happy Friday.
Here is the sketch.

LA ROCQUES

Hi guys, here is the other side of my double page layouts using the swirly hues colours and sketch. I love these colours. So, I pretty much put this page together as the last one. Did lots of distressing and added lots of flowers. I used 3 different background papers, but gutted the middles so that I didnt waste any card.(Cut the centres out),  then I cut 3 circles in various sizes from the gutted peices. Waste not want not. I cut some scalloped borders out, added the butterflies and flowers, scrolls and some pearls. I cut out some Prima packaging in acrylic that looked like white lace and put that in the top right hand corner. I die cut the title and added the date. There is some hidden journaling under the orange pull out peice of card to the side of the photo. Hope you like it.

these are the colours and the sketch from Swirly Dos.

ITSY BITSY

Hi guys, here is a layout I have made for Swirlydos, Swirly Hues challenge - which is using a colour scheme and sketch. Great if you need some inspiration. See below. Anyway, I love these colours together and knew just the photo to use. First of all I chose aqua cardstock for the photo. I  mattted the photo and distressed the cardstock for the photo. I then cut out a circle with the rest of the aqua cardstock, which I distressed. I found some polka dot papers in the colour scheme and cut a couple of circles out of them and distressed them also.  I double matted the circles on top of the peachy pink background paper and adhered this to some aqua background card all of which I distressed,  and then adhered this onto some pale aqua card. I stuck my matted photo down and then started to decorate. I added some borders and the pom poms, die cuts some branches which I thought looked a little bit like seaweed, added some die cut swirls, some flowers and butterflies. I added some pearls and then printed out my title onto some white cardstock. I then added the date and that was it. Hope you like it.

FOREVER

Hi - here is another layout using the My Creative Sketches sketch. I always prefer to make double page spreads for my albums. For this one I chose a pale duck egg blue for the background paper as the walls in the photos are pale duck egg blue. I wanted to pull out the pink in the photos and from the paper,  rather than the green, as I used green on the other layout. I hand cut a pale pink circle and adhered this to the right of the page. I adhered a pale duck egg blue circle on top.  I then added the doily to the left of the page, and matted my photos in the bright pink. I distressed the photos and the mats. I then added some bright pink chiffon roses ribbon to the circles and as a border. I die cut the title FOREVER and decorated with flowers and a pink butterfly, all Prima. I added a die cut corner, (Tim Holtz), added some pearls and a few gems and thats it.

ITS YOUR DAY

Hi guys, here is the other side to my double page layout. Ive used the same sketch from Once Upon a Sketch. I love the colours here. Ive picked out the bright pink of the clothing and the blue of the jeans. Ive used doilys again, and added lots of little details. Ive put hidden journaling on some of the circles behind the photos. I punched out the butterflies, added some flowers and pearls, and some bits n bobs from my stash. Hope you like it.

FRIENDS

Hi guys, here is a layout Ive put together for the sketch challenge over at my creative sketches. Ive chosen green as it compliments the outfits perfectly. I love the Prima background paper as it also compliments my friends top so well. Ive distressed the photos a little by rubbing a sander over the edges, then I distressed the green mats as well. I added two doilys, arranged the photos, then added a border. I die cut the bird and birdcage (Tim Holtz) and used paint dabbers and glimmer mist on them. I added a small chain from my stash. I then add a couple of die cut flourishes (sizzix) and a corner diecut. I then decorated with Prima flowers and some pearls. Hope you like it.

WAY TO GO

Hi guys, here is another page using a sketch for my inspiration. I have used the colours from my photo to dictate the papers and card Ive used.
I started with the navy and matted the photo. Then I used the rest of the navy for the backing card. I then distressed the peach cardstock and added that. I then added a large doily. Then I cut out three circles, one in soft brown, one in patterned peach and a navy one. I adhered these, then adhered my photo. I die cut the clock using a Tim Holtz die, and die cut some branches (Tim Holtz), added some Prima flowers and then added a die cut title and some hidden journaling.
This is the sketch I used from Once Upon A Sketch. Hope you like it.

DELICIOUS

Hi guys, this is the other page to a double page spread I had done already. This one is so easy. First I matted my photo onto pink cardstock . Then I chose my background paper. This one is by Prima. Then I added a pretty doily and then the photo. I then added the two borders. Also Prima. Then I stamped out the chandelier and added some gems. I added some flowers and  gems and a couple of swirly die cuts. I had a few cameos I think they are Prima too,  and this one in pink tied in really nicely. A very quick and unfussy page, so I hope you like it.

DIVA - Its a dogs life!

Hi guys, here is a photo from last October at the beach. For this layout I have used a sketch from ONCE UPON A SKETCH. (see below). Ive used blue again!!! I wanted to capture the colours from the sea and the sky. I took a sheet of steely blue background metalic cardstock then added a blue dotty paper that I distressed. I added a doily, a peice of distressed paper from Glitz and added the matted photo. I then cut two circles with my scalloped edge scissors, one in blue and one in brown and added the sub title. I used the remnant of this for the second circle and added some brown cardstock behind. I then added the main title. For this I used a Tim Holtz hanging frame in chipboard. I distressed it to hopefully look a little aged by first painting it with white acrylic paint. I then added a layer of pva then another coat of paint. When this had dried I tapped an ink pad in brown over the top and inked the edges. I added a couple of peices of leather cord for the chains. I then die cut the word and glued down. Then I added some flowers and some gems. Have a go.

YEAR 10

Hi guys, Ive just finished this layout using blue! I hardly ever use blue, but with Jessie in a blue school uniform I think it was a must. Ive not used a sketch here as I just wanted to do lots of layering and distressing. Ive used my new distressing tool a Zutter distress- it and it creates wonderful edges which I couldnt wait to play with. So here's what I did. First of all I chose all the papers, these happen to be the only blue I had in my stash which are from Basic Grey - Granola. I then distressed all the edges with my new toy. Great fun if a little messy. Then I matted my photo onto some blue cardstock and chose some doilys! I continued to mat and layer all the papers until I liked the result and glued them into position. I found some typed paper that I liked the colour of to add in the corners and I inked the edges. I added some flowers and branches, the title and some bling. This layout didnt take long at all, it all came together very quickly I think because all the papers matched and I didnt have to hunt out matching ones. I then planted the whole thing onto a peice of browny paper that toned in. Why not give it a go?

OUR HOUSE

Hi everyone, here is a layout I have just finished using a sketchabilities sketch no.64.
I loved using this sketch as its just right for my style. I used all my most favourite things. Pink and green and doilies and flowers and butterflies and pearls.
I chose some brown cardstock from my stash, which picked out the brown of the roof, then chose the green that matched the lawn. This then needed a pop of colour so I chose pink as it goes great with green.
I then placed on the doilys.
Next I matted the photos onto pink cardstock, then onto some green paper that  I cut out using a template.
I added a border in green that I cut with some scalloped scissors.
I then cut a larger border using a scalloped template.
I then added a few peices of torn Prima pink paper .
Now that the basis was done I started to decorate. I added the flowers with pink brads then hand cut the bunting. I just doubled over some fabric and hand cut some triangles. I then took some coloured twine and stapled the bunting peices on top. I then coloured them in with inks in pink, green and brown. I attached the bunting with pink velvet brads.  I then punched out some butterflies, added the pearls. I added a title and some journaling. All done. Why not give it a go. See sketch below. Happy scrapping.

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN

Hi guys, this is the other page to my double layout. I wanted this one to be a bit more girly, hence the pink and Ive distressed a few of the edges, but Im not sure that it comes out in the picture. Ive used the same sketch and added a few daisys around the photo to compliment the background paper (which is Prima) and to pick up all the daisys Ive added onto the page. I punched out some butterflies, added some pearls and the title. Hope you like it.

PREZZO

Hi guys here is a layout using a sketch from Stuck On You Sketches for my inspiration. I  have to say this one was a bit of a struggle, but I got there in the end! I wanted to use lots of photos so thought this sketch would be ideal. I managed to get 7 photos in so thats not bad. I thought I'd keep it simple with black and white as the photos were quite busy. I cut out lots of small squares, attached small photos, added the title, flowers and butterflies and lots of pearls. Not a doily  in sight! Hope you like it.

HERE COME THE GIRLS

Hi guys, here is another layout for you. This time I used a sketch from CREATIVE SCRAPPERS 193, to create this layout. Its always good to start off with some inspiration! For this one I double matted my photo onto two peices of Bazzil cardstock. I chose some pink shabby paper for my background. I used a doily, I know! I then cut two borders from the Bazzil and cut out some scallops on them, one with scissors and the other with a template. I added some ribbon. I then hand made the swirls. The white pearls are jost dotted along a swirly line on acetate, and the black one I used Perfect Pearls onto acetate. I used a template from a Prima swirl I had. I Added lots of flowers, punched out some butterflies, added some pearls and the title. I hand made a tag for the journaling that fits behind the corner borders. "Remember" is a tag from a kit, the next flowery border is from some Prima packaging! Waste not want not I say! I then matted them onto the dark pink Bazzill. Why dont you give it a go. The sketch is below.

MAMMA MIA

Hi this is the other page to my double layouts using the rest of the kit from SJCrafts.
Ive done lots of layering, added a doily, some titles and some punched out butterflies. Of course Ive added some flowers and some pearls! Hope you like it.

On the Sea Shore

Hi  I am still doing photos from last year, this is one of the last days at the beach. Ive used a Prima paper for the background, and some Bazzill for the matting. I handmade the brickwork, by cutting up some card into little bricks and then glueing them down onto some card, and then gone over them with gesso to fill in the cracks, then I painted them white, and chalked on one of them. Easy peasy, just a little time consuming. I also handmade the large birdcage by cutting up some corrugated card  and painting it white then adding some gold paint. I then added the chain and a few stamped birds. the stamped birds are from Prima. Unusually no flowers for this one, I didnt think it needed it. The small birdcage is also a Prima stamp, and so is the brick wall journaling block. The inspiration for this one is a sketch from sketchabilities No. 63. see below.

Hi  - Im still getting my summer pictures done, although this is from September.
I used a cardboard background from Prima, Double Doilys! yes, Bazzill cardstock in 3 colours taken from the photo, and a few bits n bobs.
The layout was an inspiration from Pencil Lines,  which I reversed. Well, up side down anyway. See below. No flowers on this one which makes a change, no pearls and no bling, oh dear!

CHRISTMAS ANGELS

Hi here is my take on the Creative Scrappers Sketch No. 190.
I used a large doily for the background on top of some Bazzill Bling. I used the last remnants of my Christmas Magic papers by Fancy Pants for the hand cut baubles and borders. I inked the edges and added a few sparkly gems and chipboard snowflakes and stars. The journaling block is also Fancy Pants Christmas Magic that I bought at SJ Crafts. Hope you like it. The sketch is here too.

Ive done lots of layers and added pearls and ric-rac and lace and butterflies and prima flowers, couldnt fit a doily in! Ive also used some music paper from an old music book and Ive inked all the edges to help everything stand out a little. The deep burnt orange backing paper is Bazzill. Hope you like it.
