FLOWER CARD

Flower Card
Hi Here is the pearl flower layout tutorial as promised.

This is what you will need.
One glue gun, pearls of various sizes, circle punch, card for circle and I used a sharp needle - end tool or you could use tweezers to pick up the pearls.

First of all, punch out a small circle. Then add a drop of hot glue in the centre. Then add one large pearl.

Continue adding pearls one at a time.

It should look like this.

Until you have a centre that looks like this. It is best to use the same colour card as the flower.

CAPTAINS CLUB & DAD

Good morning scrappers.  Here is a layout using a sketch from SKETCHABILITIES No 70 for my inspiration.
And its pink, yay!! So first I matted and layered my photos and the backing cards. I used different script papers that picked out the grey in the photo. I adhered these onto pink cardstock and added two doilies with a pink circle in between. I made 3 borders, but you cant really see them. One is a large scalloped border, a small scalloped border and a large zig zag border. I then die cut some swirls and added them. I die cut a bunting banner and glued this onto some pink twine. I adhered these with pink brads. I then die cut the title and added the flowers. See sketch below.

MUM

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Bank Holiday. Today my layout was inspired by a sketch from ONCE UPON A SKETCH. For this one I used paper from Prima from the Sparkling Spring Collection for my background. I chose pink, white and brown for this layout. I matted my photo in pink Bazzil and started to layer up my papers by first ripping and tearing them. I chose some music paper and some script paper. I also used some paper that I made using a Prima brick mask and homemade Gesso. You can just see it. I stuck down my first layer of script paper  and then stitched around the edge in brown. I used a doily punch for the pink border. I then painted a chipboard clock frame by tim holtz and stuck this down. I added some Prima flowers to the clock and some die cut swirls. I added a pearl flourish and a Tim Holtz die cut heart with wings. I die cut the banner and added a pearl string for the bunting. I added some journaling entitled The Mothers Psalm and die cut the title. The sketch is below.

ONCE UPON A SKETCH May
http://www.onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/

the journaling reads:

THE MOTHERS PSALM
The Lord is my co-pilot, I shall not rush
He maketh me to hit all the green traffic lights.
He leadeth me through shopping hassles.
He restoreth my composure.
He giveth me strength to make ends meet for my familys sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of laundry, I will fear no evil,  for Thou art with me.
Thy perspective and sense of humor, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me with the assistance of takeout.
Surely clutter and confusion shall follow me most of the day' s of my life, but I shall dwell in a happy home forever. Amen

DADDYS LITTLE PEACH

Good morning all, today I have a layout using a sketch from CREATIVE SCRAPPERS No. 206.
I have also used lots of doilys for a challenge over at  the Flying Unicorn and  I have made some doily flowers for a challenge. I also made the flower centres. I will add a tutorial for these later.
So, for this page I chose some Prima paper from the Songbird Collection. I also did some fussy cutting of the branch and birds from one sheet. I ripped the edges and adhered this onto some peach cardstock. I then coloured some doilys using paints and glimmer mist. If you do this make sure you do not use too much water as the doilys will disintergrate. I added the matted photo, and lay some doilies cut in half in the back. I added the branch and a die cut tim holtz birdcage which I painted with some gold acrylic paint. I added a little chain. I die cut some butterflies and added pearls. Then I made my doily flowers and made the centres and added these. I added some hidden journaling an die cut the title.

PARTY ON

Good morning everyone. Here is my take on a sketch from STUCK ON YOU SKETCHES from 27 April.
I chose my papers first, going for the salmon colour Jessie is wearing plus brown and light aqua from the background.  Then I matted the photo and cut out all my layers. I hand cut the banners and matted them onto brown Bazill cardstock. I started layering up as per the sketch and took out my sewing machine to attach some of the peices. When everything was secure I made the doily lace trim from a regular 6" doily and tucked that underneath the border which I stuck down with foam pads to even out the lift. I die cut some hearts and inked the edges. Then I started to decorate with Prima flowers and butterflies. I die cut some small pine branches (punch bunch) and added the title and the journaling block. Hope you like it and give it a go.

BELIEVE

Good morning scrappers.. Here is another layout to go with my last circle layout for the challenge over at THE FLYING UNICORN.
First I cut out a large circle, then cut out a smaller scalloped circle using a template. I then adhered the doily and then the matted photo. I cut a small doily in half and adhered these on either side of the photo. I then added the tab that goes across the centre. I die cut some retro hearts and inked the edges.  I added some orange paper that I picked out from the background and then added the flowers and pearls. I stamped some butterflies, glittered them and cut them out. I hand made the large blooms using a flower die, old book pages and glimmer mist. Hope you like it.

BAPTISM

Good morning and thank goodness its Friday.
Here is a layout using 3 photos instead of the usual one.
For this,Ichose the colours from the colour of the water. I matted up the 3 pictures in green cardstock and inked the edges. I then
started with the backing card and added a doily. I
cut a circle in green then added another doily. I cut out 2 more circles and added them in, then added the triangular tab. I inked all the edges in brown. Then to decorate, I added butterflies, gems, flowers and some die cut branches (sizzix) and die cut and hand cut hearts. I used my Tim Holtz alphabet for the title.
I didnt use a sketch this time.

ACTS 2 v 38

Hi everyone, here is my latest layout.
For my inspiration I have used a challenge from THE FLYING UNICORN to make a layout that is not a square.
So, here we have a circle. I used a large plate to draw around and cut out. The challenge was to also include 3 butterflies, 3 pretty papers, 3 flower clusters and 3 doilies. So that pretty much covers all my favorites right there.
I matted the photo first. Then gathered all my papers together. This is Gabrielle Collection by Bo
Bunny. I then layered everything quite ramdonly. I stamped out the butterflies then added some glitter and cut them out. I added some daisies and some hand made scrunchy flowers using a Sizzix flower die.I then added a title, and some hidden journaling.

GOTTA DANCE

Hi everyone, here is a layout Ive just finished using a CREATIVE SCRAPPERS 203 sketch.
This layout is to compliment the last one I did - Pavilion.
Here I wanted to keep it all quite simple because there is a lot going on in the photo. There is some yellow in there, hence the yellow paper and flowers. So, I chose my paper and card, layered up as per the sketch, added some flowers and die cut the banner. (Sizzix Banners Framelits).   I used a Tim Holtz alphabet for the title. I had to have a doily in there and I used my doily punch.
I remembered to add the butterflies this time.
Thats all for now. BFN

PAVILION

Hi everyone, here is my latest layout, which is the other side to the last layout. I always prefer to do double layouts.
Here Ive used a sketch from ONCE UPON A SKETCH.
Ive used the same colours and layered up as per the sketch. I used my Martha Stewart doily punch for the edges, a doily and some pretty pearly swirls, plus a couple of die cut swirls (sizzix). Ive added Prima flowers and thats it. Easy peasy and a great sketch to work with. I love simple clean lines so this was just right for me. I have forgotten to add the butterflies though! Will do that later!
Oh, and I reversed the sketch.  BFN

ROCK ANGELS

Thank goodness its Friday!
Here is a layout I have just finished, using a sketch from STUCK ON YOU SKETCHES. I have also done a TUTORIAL for this one, so hope you check it out to see how I made the frame using cardboard.
So here is how I put the page together.
I wanted to keep the colours simple so chose cream, white and yellow from the photo. The background cardstock is cream Bazill. I then used a Martha Stewart doily punch and punched around the lacy paper. I then used some yellow Bazill for the centre background border and again doily punched all the edges. I then took 3 different sizes of doilys and inked the edges.  I adhered all these to the page and went off to make my frame. ( See my tutorial). I then stuck the frame down and die cut the title using my new Tim Holtz die.

YOU ARE THE SUNSHINE OF MY LIFE

Hi everyone, here is a layout Ive just finished using a sketch from SKETCHABILITIES  69.
Again, no pink in this one, Im getting withdrawal! Anyway, I first chose the background and other colours, matted my photos onto brown, blue then brown bazill cardstock, then scalloped the edges with scallop scissors. I adhered these, then handcut the large scalloped borders using a ruler template and inked the edges. Then I hand cut the brown and beige banners and inked the edges. I adhered these and added some lace. I die cut the title with a Tim Holtz alphabet and a sizzix alphabet. I added glitter and pearls to my flowers. I then die cut some butterflies and added glitter and pearls. I stamped a bird and birdcage and cut them out. I die cut the large heart (Tim Holtz) and hand cut the other hearts and matted them. MOULIN HUET BAY

Hi everyone, HERE IS MY 100th POST!!
I cant quite believe Ive done that many! Anyway, this is a layout to go with another one I did recently with the title Guernsey. I usually prefer to do double page layouts, but dont always manage to finish them at the same time. So, this is similar, but not exactly the same. I used the same colours and papers  from Basic Grey and Bazill and layered up everything oposite to the other layout. Here I have used a Tim Holtz die-cut chipboard hanging sign that I love, which I painted white then went over it with brown ink and inked the edges. I then added the sticker title and attached with brown brads. I added some paper strips to hang the sign on. I made some butterflies and  die- cut some swirls, I added flowers from Prima and some pearls for the centres and thats about it. Another simple and easy page for you. Hope you like it.

AMAZED BY YOU

Hi everyone, here is a layout Ive just finished using a sketch from the Flying Unicorn. I chose blue and gold from the photo and distressed the papers first. I double matted the photo and added lots of flowers and gems. Sometimes its nice just to do something simple that does not take too long, and this is one of them.

TELEPHONE

Hi HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Here is a layout I've just finished for a Sketchabilities sketch challenge.
This layout is very busy for me, so it ended up taking quite a while! First of all I just had to use yellow, and then blue seemed to be the perfect partner. So, I used that brilliant trellis stuff from 99p shop, then I matted the photos and started to layer up as per the sketch. I had to add a doily of course, (does anyone know how to spell that?) and added the flowers. Then I die cut the title using a Tim Holtz die and added the words from a Blondie song from the 1970s. I think it was called Call Me.

Here is the sketch.

SWEET TASTE OF SUMMER

Good morning all, here is a layout Ive just finished for a sketch challenge over at the Flying Unicorn.
I first chose peach and blue from the photo, I love these colours together. Then I followed the sketch by next cutting out my circles. One in peach and one in some music paper and inked the edges. I first cut the edges with some squiggly scissors. I then cut out two background papers and did the same. Then I started to layer up. Once Id matted my photo, and added all the layers I started to decorate. First with doilys, I cant live without doilys! Then I used up some more of the music sheet paper. I cut out strips of cardstock and layered them in. I then added the flowers and pearls, and a hand made vine. I die cut some small butterflies and there you have it.

FAR OUT

Happy End of Term everyone, and hope you get some scrapping time in. Here is a layout I've done for the sketch challenge at Stuck On U Sketches. See below.
I really struggled with the colours for this one. I loved the sketch as it is clean and simple which i like, but because of all the colours in the photo, I just couldnt find anything that matched. Im a bit matchy matchy Im afraid! In the end I chose a white for the bulk of the background and took the pink from my dress and the green from both the dress and top. I wanted to use flower power paper but couldnt find any. This was the best I could come up with. This was fairly easy after I had the cardstock put together. Just layer up and decorate to your hearts content. This was taken at our 60s fancy dress party. I made the large flower from some ribbon I found at poundland and I made the centre using pearls and a heat gun. I die cut the butterflies and found fabby bright pink pearls in the Works. I then finished off with some journaling and a sticker title. Hope you like it.

Here is the sketch from SOUS.

ITS A SPRING THING

Good morning and happy Monday. Here is my layout for a challenge at Flying Unicorn. I chose the colours from the photo, so no pink today! I used lots of distressing and layering for this one and lots of flowers. The picture is of Millie wanting to play with the swan who wasnt having any of it. Poor Millie ended up running away with her tail between her legs! Anyway, If you want to scap lift this one its really easy. Just Choose your cardstock and layer away. To distress the edges you could use the edge of a pair of scissors, I used a tool from Prima.  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey. So,after I had added the layers, I added a doily in the corner and a mini doily from some Prima packaging under the butterfly. I cut a chipboard swirl and used dabbers to colour it, I added a Prima butterfly and some die cut butterflies using a Cheery Lynn die. I added lots of flowers and pearls and a die cut branch. ( sissix).

You can find them over on the right. For this layout I chose the colours from the dress and followed the sketch. I used a scallop punch to punch around the lemon cardstock and adhered this to some brown card. I then used a martha stewart punch for the doily edging. I used a doily punch for the aqua doily and matted this onto the page. I layered up with some Websters cardstock and added flowers, pearls and a title from websters stickers for a perfect match. Please note there is not a hint of pink anywhere!! Hope you like it. See sketch below.
